Early Political Campaigns and Schwag

Here’s a milk pitcher with the face of former President William Henry Harrison, perhaps best known for two things. First, his time as the president is the shortest to date (31 days) and second, his campaign slogan, “Tippecanoe and Tyler too.” Harrison is generally regarded as the person responsible for active campaigning. He was the first presidential hopeful who went to events to rally support and campaign. Factor in a pretty cool creamer featuring his face and a catchy slogan it’s no wonder he won the 1840 presidential election.
