Health Care Reform Debate

The government debate on health care is going no where (there’s not even a bill on the table!), but it’s all the media is talking about and it’s serving to divide the country. No progress has been made– and flu season is rapidly approaching! Instead of focusing on political rhetoric, let’s focus on some steps you can take to stay healthy and avoid going to the doctor.

1) Wash hands frequently, especially after coughing or sneezing. This can be difficult if you’re at work and don’t want to constantly get up, so I recommend getting some hand sanitizer gel or antibacterial wipes to carry with you wherever you go.

2) Stay hydrated. If possible, you should carry a water bottle with you wherever you go so that you can drink water, which will help keep your immune system up.

3) When coughing or sneezing, be sure to cover your mouth with tissues– and then immediately throw them away.

4) Of course, be sure to get lots of rest!
