I saw this donkey pinata on a site that supposedly features pro-Democratic gifts, but it leaves me a bit confused. Beating your political party’s symbol with a baseball bat until candy explodes out of it seems like a strange way to show your support. I would expect to see something like this on a Republican site, especially during election season–pinatas of the real candidates are a lot harder to make than simple animals!

Then again, some light-hearted fun and games at the expense of your own party isn’t necessarily a bad thing. After all, it gets tiring handing out all those flyers, blanketing your city with posters, and making countless telephone calls to get out the vote. A patriotic pinata is a fun way of taking out stress on the campaign trail.
