Ah, those last days of 2008, when the face of the President-Elect was popping up on everything from quasi-religious t-shirts to commemorative bottles of wine…a Barack Obama can opener wouldn’t have turned any heads.

Just a few months later, however, now that one of the country’s most intense political campaigns has weathered its post-election cool-down, even his biggest supporters are forced to admit: this “Yes We Can” opener looks pretty silly. Did anyone actually buy this? Have any other presidents actually appeared on cooking utensils?
